HarpThat's when I went to see my harp.
Well, the bits of my harp.
But it's going to be beautifull
You know how some wood has that shimmery thing? like waves under the surface? It's got that ALL along the arm, which should look even nicer once it's oiled and everything. And I'm getting a really nicely shaped body with 5-7 faces to make it curved (I can't remember quite how many) It's going to have a different way of restringing it than the other ones I've used, but I think it actually looks easier.
It's going to be the 1st harp of it's kind built entirely by Ardival (They used to get the bodies made elsewhere) so it's going to take some time. The guy said 'before Christmas', and I ordered it just before the summer holidays. But they've got no templates for this one yet, so he's going to be taking his time to make sure he doesn't make any mistakes. I'd rather have a good harp and wait, than an iffy harp tomorrow.
The back is going to be lime, I think, for strength. And the rest is a very pail wood which I can never remember the name of.
Arg, I can't wait to play it
